Our Story

Hello, I’m Adrienne, owner of Adrienne’s Flowers.

I first started my business in 2010, opening a small shop in the village of Heath and Reach, at first selling small gifts for the home and planted arrangements.  After a couple of months, passers by started to ask me about bespoke flower arrangements of fresh flowers, for weddings and funerals in the village. This was the start of my flowery journey !  I quickly found out that there was a local demand so I decided to jump head first in, and that I did !   I quickly got myself onto a floristry course, a lot of which was one to one, so I could learn exactly what I needed to, followed by securing reliable suppliers for my flowers.  (One of these suppliers has been so reliable, I still use them on a regular basis today).  Skip 3 years and I opened my shop in Leighton Buzzard town centre, employing my first ever employee – Sam, my daughter.

Adrienne’s Flowers has grown over the last 15 years into a busy family run florist, yes I have my 3 daughters and husband working for me now, roping in extended family members at peak times for their driving and tea making skills.

Come and say hi if you’re in Leighton Buzzard, we would love to see you !

Meet the rest of the team...

Hi, I’m Sam, one of Adrienne’s daughters.

I joined Adrienne’s Flowers in 2013, learning from Adrienne on the job.  I already had retail management experience, so I brought my skills into the business, helping to run a smooth and efficient Florist.

I had a short break from floristry in 2015, when I welcomed my first baby boy into the fold, but I was soon back on duty on Saturdays initially, before returning part time.  Following baby boy number 2, a couple of years later, I am now in the shop 4 days a week, making up your flower bouquets, funeral arrangements and admin duties.

I really enjoy meeting our customers and helping them with all of life’s occasions, happy or sad and all the bits in between, I love making people feel at home in our gorgeous flower shop.

Hi, I’m Sophie, Adrienne’s 2nd eldest daughter.

I joined Adrienne’s Flowers in 2021 after having my first baby boy during the pandemic.   I started off as being the delivery driver for Adrienne,  so that she could spend more time in the shop.   As time went on we got busier and I started to help out more in the shop, being trained up to make bouquets and funeral arrangements,  I soon became part of the team.  We all get on so well and the atmosphere in the shop is always a happy one, which I believe our customers pick up on and some have even commented on.

I had a small break in 2023 when I welcomed my second baby boy,  I wasn’t away long however, and was soon back on the road delivering our gorgeous bouquets and making up arrangements.

My  favourite colour is yellow, so if your florist choice bouquet turns up beautifully bright, you’ll  know who made it!

Hi, I’m Molly, Adrienne’s youngest daughter.

I joined the business in 2022.  I gained my A ‘Levels during the Covid Pandemic and wasn’t really sure which direction I wanted to go in once I left school.   I helped Adrienne a lot during Covid as the business was allowed to operate behind closed doors.  For the first few weeks, working from home,  there were a lot of funeral orders to fulfil, and she asked me for help.   This I did and quickly learned how to make up the tributes with her guidance.  Once the pandemic was over, I decided I’d like to be a florist and joined the team at the shop.  I haven’t looked back.  I love working with flowers and getting to be creative.  My confidence has grown since meeting people of all ages in the shop and you’re more than likely have me answering the phone to you and helping you with your order.

I love being in charge of our social media and I’ve helped considerably with the business marketing and website design.

I hope to see you soon.

Molly
